Senior QA Engineer – Data & Enterprise Integrations

About the Opportunity

Toronto Test Consultants is seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer – Data & Enterprise Integrations to support a complex enterprise technology environment within the financial services sector.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data integration testing, Master Data Management (MDM), and production support, combined with exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role within an Agile delivery pod, requiring an individual who can confidently navigate technical challenges, communicate with business and technology stakeholders, manage expectations, and take ownership of deliverables.

We place equal importance on technical expertise and professional communication. We are looking for someone who is technically capable, articulate, adaptable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This is not a traditional QA testing position.

It requires a versatile professional who can bridge technical execution, production support, and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

QA Planning & Integration Testing

- Plan, coordinate, and execute QA activities across enterprise data platforms and integrated applications.
- Design and execute test scenarios to validate end-to-end data flows, system integrations, and microservices.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and integrity testing across source and target systems.
- Validate integrations between MDM platforms and enterprise applications such as Oracle and Salesforce.
- Support testing activities related to data migrations, system enhancements, and technology modernization initiatives.
- Identify, investigate, document, and track defects through resolution.

Enterprise Data & Integration Technologies

- Test distributed microservices architectures and event-driven integrations using technologies such as Apache Kafka and Amazon SQS.
- Validate data transformations, messaging workflows, and integration processes.
- Support data validation across platforms such as Snowflake and Google BigQuery.




- Work with MDM platforms such as Reltio to validate master data quality, consistency, and synchronization.

Production Support & Troubleshooting

- Investigate production incidents, application alerts, and data-related issues.
- Perform root cause analysis, data fixes, and validation of production remediation activities.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues using observability and incident management tools such as Datadog, Honeycomb, and OpsGenie.
- Support ongoing operational stability and continuous improvement within a KTLO (Keep the Lights On) environment.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve integration and data issues.

Agile Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work collaboratively within a cross-functional Agile pod alongside developers, business analysts, product owners, and technology stakeholders.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers clearly and proactively.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide realistic assessments of timelines and deliverables.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on responsibilities beyond traditional QA activities.
- Take ownership of assigned deliverables and independently drive issues through resolution.

Required Qualifications

Technical Experience

- 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, with strong exposure to enterprise integration and data testing.
- Demonstrated experience validating complex integrations across multiple enterprise systems.
- Strong SQL skills, including data querying, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka and Amazon SQS.




- Familiarity with Master Data Management concepts, data quality, and master data synchronization.
- Experience investigating production incidents, troubleshooting data issues, and supporting application operations.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Solid professional presence, confidence, and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations, articulate complex technical issues, and communicate risks and dependencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, initiative, and sound judgment.
- Ability to balance competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements.
- Comfortable operating independently while remaining highly collaborative within an Agile team.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with Reltio MDM or comparable enterprise MDM platforms.
- Experience integrating MDM platforms with Oracle, Salesforce, or other enterprise applications.
- Experience with Snowflake and/or Google BigQuery.
- Familiarity with Datadog, Honeycomb, OpsGenie, or similar monitoring and incident management tools.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
- Exposure to automated integration testing and regression testing frameworks.
- Previous experience within financial services, banking, wealth management, or other complex enterprise environments.
