About Diagnos

At Diagnos, we are transforming healthcare through artificial intelligence and advanced medical imaging. We specialize in the development of a web-based platform (CARA System) for automatic, AI-powered, image analysis of retinal images (such as color fundus photos and OCT scans) to aid optometrists and other eye care specialists in the early detection and management of different ocular diseases.

The Role

We are looking for a Lead Software Developer who enjoys being close to the code while helping a team succeed. In this role, you will guide the engineering team through the development of the next generation of our CARA System , ensuring that every technical decision supports its growth as a world-class AI tool for retinal image analysis. You will lead by example, maintaining the high standards of software quality development while maintaining documentation to meet medical device regulatory requirements. As part of your leadership, you will oversee the health of our electronic medical record databases and uphold strong cybersecurity practices to protect sensitive patient data.

Key Responsibilities

- Writing and reviewing code for our CARA System, across our entire software stack (Javascript/Angular,



PHP, Java, Python, SQL).
- Lead a team of software developers throughout the entire project lifecycle, using Scrum/Agile methodologies.
- Define data processing pipelines and workflows for ingesting high-resolution retinal images (fundus, OCT) from third-party cameras/PACS systems into our web environment.
- Oversee containerized application deployments and cloud infrastructure health (Kubernetes), ensuring reliable scaling and uptime for AI model inference and image processing pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 , IEC 62304 standards as well as regulatory bodies (FDA, Health Canada, etc). This includes following a structured development process and actively contributing to the document effort (e.g. software requirement specifications, software architecture document, config management plan, etc).
- Oversee system-level verification, validation (V&V;), and performance testing (latency, image rendering, cloud processing).
- Maintain strong cybersecurity practices to protect patient data, following healthcare privacy regulations like HIPAA or GDPR.
- Closely work with our AI researchers to help move their models into a stable and well-structured production environment.

What We’re Looking For

- 10+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a regulated industry.
- 3+ years of experience in technical leadership,



mentoring engineers, and guiding Agile/Scrum delivery.
- Solid knowledge of programming languages such as Java, PHP, and/or Python
- Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized applications and AI/data workloads on Kubernetes in production environments (e.g., configuring workloads, resource scaling, and CI/CD pipelines).
- Experience running workloads on managed Kubernetes platforms (e.g., AWS EKS, Azure AKS, or Google GKE).
- Solid expertise in SQL database design and optimization.
- Experience working with medical device standards (ISO 13485 / IEC 62304) is a major plus, or similar experience in a highly regulated environment like transport or financial industries. This is key for compliance purposes and for maintaining our readiness to succeed with regular audits.
- Cybersecurity experience in protecting sensitive data and following privacy best practices.
- Clear communication skills in French and English.
