Senior Tax Manager – Asset Management

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Opportunity An established professional services firm is looking to add a Senior Tax Manager to its growing Asset Management Tax practice. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role, overseeing complex tax engagements for investment fund clients while developing solid client relationships and leading a team of tax professionals.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering Canadian and cross-border tax services, providing technical expertise and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee complex tax engagements for investment funds across the full tax lifecycle.
- Manage engagement planning, resource allocation, deadlines and overall service delivery.
- Review complex tax work and ensure accuracy, quality and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentorship to managers and junior team members.
- Oversee tax reporting and compliance, including fund distributions, Canadian tax requirements and US PFIC reporting.




- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and service delivery.
- Manage competing priorities, resolve technical challenges and proactively address engagement risks.

Qualifications & Experience

- CPA designation.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in public accounting tax and/or the asset management or investment fund industry.
- Strong understanding of tax matters relating to investment funds and asset management.
- Experience managing client engagements and leading or mentoring tax professionals.
- Strong technical review capabilities and the ability to provide guidance on complex tax matters.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA In-Depth Tax Course considered an asset.
