Description

Claims Manager – Delegated Authority / TPA Claims

Greater Toronto Area | Hybrid | Full-Time | $100,000 – $130,000 + Bonus

My client is a well-established, international claims services organization searching for a Claims Manager for its Canadian third-party administration (TPA) claims operation. The team handles programs on behalf of London Market and delegated-authority clients.

This is a people-first leadership role. You will lead a team of four supervisors and about 30 adjusters across Canada. The team is growing and many of its supervisors are new to leadership, so our client wants someone who has managed people before. You should know how to coach, build accountability, and give the team the technical and leadership support it needs.

What You'll Do

- Lead and develop the leadership team. Mentor and coach supervisors so they become confident, effective people leaders. Step into coach adjusters directly when needed.
- Provide technical oversight. Act as a technical resource across property, casualty, and auto claims. Make sure complex files are assigned to adjusters with the right level of experience, and spot files that are moving beyond someone's ability.
- Manage authority and controls. Keep a close eye on claims handled within program authority levels. Ensure escalations to clients happen at the right time and account instructions are followed consistently.
- Champion quality. Oversee file reviews, audits, and operational controls, and use the trends you find to improve consistency and outcomes.
- Partner with clients. Work alongside a peer manager who focuses on client onboarding and program implementation. Support relationships with insurers,

managing agents, brokers, and coverholders.
- Turn data into action. Use claims data, bordereaux, and management information to identify risks, priorities, and areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement. Look closely at workflows, processes, and technology, and help build a more proactive, efficient, and sustainable operation.
- Support financial performance. Oversee billing, expenses, time recording, and receivables.

What You'll Bring

- About 10 years of claims experience, including proven people leadership. Experience leading other leaders is ideal. Strong supervisors who are ready for the next step are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong technical knowledge across property and casualty lines, including commercial auto. Qualified lines or liability experience is a significant asset.
- Experience at an independent adjusting firm, a TPA, or an insurer. London Market, Lloyd's, or delegated-authority claims experience is an asset but not required. The right leader can be trained on the London Market side.
- Comfort holding people accountable while staying approachable and supportive.
- Sound judgment, curiosity, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- CIP designation preferred, or a degree or equivalent experience.

- Ability to obtain adjusting licences in multiple provinces.
- A valid driver's licence for occasional local travel.

Working Arrangement

This is a hybrid role. The target is about three days a week in the office or in-market, with flexibility for the right person. Offices are available in the GTA. The team itself works mostly remotely across Canada.

- Base salary of $100,000 – $140,000, based on a 35-hour work week
- Annual bonus target of about 10% of salary
- Health, dental, and vision benefits from day one, plus a health spending account and employee assistance program
- Group RRSP with an employer match of up to 5%, and an employee share purchase plan
- Flexible hours, shortened work week options, and personal days
- Clear paths for growth and development within a large national and international organization
