Role Summary:

Working as the Shipper / Receiver at Freedom Concepts, you are part of the larger, overall Production team. You will be tasked to pack product for shipment in boxes or in crates which you will need to construct. While working in the shipping department it will be your responsibility to ship and receive product to and from outside vendors.

You will be required to deliver and pick up product from vendors and sub-contractors within the city in a timely manner. Although you are working alongside other skilled workers on the Production team, you must be comfortable working independently in a factory setting. You will be accountable to the Production Manager for prioritizing your workload and the daily / weekly planning of shipping, including all parts orders.

Communication is imperative in planning but also ensuring that stock shortages are alerted to in a timely manner. A successful Shipper/ Receiver enjoys working with their hands, has an analytical mind, can physically meet the demands of the job, and has a keen eye for detail.

Specific Functions:

· Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.

· Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.

· Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.

· Maintains a clean,



neat, and member-ready area.

· Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.

· Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

· Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.

· Provides additional backup support for other production departments.

· Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.

· Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.

· Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.

· Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.

· Handle materials within the shop and in-transit.

· Perform housekeeping duties throughout the entire building as needed / requested (sweeping, snow blowing, organizing shelving, etc).

· Ensures that areas of the parts and shipping departments are properly stocked.

· Verify products for quality assurance purposes and complete inspection checklists prior to shipping.

· General production support such as equipment maintenance, building upkeep projects, and seasonal maintenance may be required from time to time.

· Other duties as assigned

Physical / Environmental Requirements:

· The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm.





· Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time and lift up to 75 lbs.

· Freedom Concepts is located inside the Perimeter, but unfortunately outside of city services such as Transit. Therefore, owning your own vehicle and having reliable transportation is strongly encouraged.

· This role’s primary work is in the production warehouse but also involves spending time outdoors and driving on the road (exposed to all weather conditions).

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

· 2-3 years logistics and / or Shipping-Receiving experience.

· Forklift Certification an asset.

· Working From Heights an asset.

· Strong mechanical aptitude / reasoning

· Time management, planning, and prioritization skills

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong sense of time organization and urgency.

· Able to work independently and within a team.

·A valid Driver’s License and clean drivers absract.

Salary / Wage Range:

· To be discussed during the interview process but is dependent upon years of experience and the specific skillset the successful candidate is bringing with them.
