Just Sales Jobs
Vancouver
Our client is hiring a Technical Inside Sales Representative to sell large gauge and large format thermoplastic products: its own line of commercial products and custom-manufactured parts. You will sell to industrial and commercial customers who buy product to support their own manufacturing or processing. You will work with the Sales Manager on discovery calls and estimates. Our client does not state a decision-maker title for this role.
Your time is split 70% new business development and 30% account management. Leads come from prospect lists supplied by the product department and marketing. Customers are industrial and commercial manufacturers and processors, including second tier vehicle manufacturers, US military (custom work) and hydroponic equipment distributors. This is an inside sales role with no specific sales territory. You will be the second inside sales rep on the team and will report to the Sales Manager. The base salary is $70,000 to $80,000 CAD plus bonuses.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Base salary: $70,000–$80,000 CAD
- Bonus: $10,000 CAD paid at the end of the year when KPIs are met
- No commission. This is a salaried role.
- Performance reviews are held yearly
- Vacation, sick and personal days are offered. Vacation and personal days are negotiable.
THE COMPANY & CULTURE
Our client has been in business for about 43 years (since approximately 1983) and is an established, mature, privately owned company with a single owner. It has 42 employees, all based locally, and is headquartered in Surrey, BC. It manufactures large gauge and large format thermoplastic products. It makes custom parts for customers with a specific problem and sells its own line of commercial products. It runs two divisions,
a commercial product division and a custom manufacturing division. Revenue grows 10 to 15% a year. In-house products have historically been about 50% of the business and custom work the other 50%. Customers include second tier vehicle manufacturers, US military (custom work) and hydroponic equipment distributors. Many employees are long-tenured, with average tenure of 5 to 10 years. The culture has a solid family feeling, and people support one another. Your first weeks are in person so you can build trust with the Design and Engineering teams. The interview process runs two to three stages with various people in the company, mainly the President and Corporate Advisors, and the team makes the final hiring decision. The team is long-tenured with very low staff turnover.
