Aerotek seeks experienced Fiber Technicians for a long-term project based out of Edmonton, AB. The role centers on diagnosing fiber breaks, high loss, reflectance, bad splices, connector issues, and bend loss. Technicians will use testing equipment and complete remediation rather than simply following installation instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform OTDR testing and read traces accurately
- Diagnose fiber failures and determine root causes independently
- Complete fiber repairs and remediation work
- Investigate breaks, loss, reflectance, splices, connectors, and bends
- Work available shifts at the Mackenzie remote site

Requirements:

- Three or more years of fiber troubleshooting experience
- Robust OTDR testing and trace-reading skills
- Experience using power meters and light sources
- Experience using VFLs and fiber inspection scopes
- Strong independent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
