Apply security operations expertise in Halifax as a Technical Specialist, triaging alerts with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Tenable, and SolarWinds.

Reporting to the Manager of Security Operations, this permanent position supports Cyber Security and Digital Solutions within the Government of Nova Scotia. You will help advance Security Operations Centre maturity through incident response, monitoring, reporting, and agile development. The work requires systems operations knowledge, KQL, network analysis, and careful documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Triage incidents and alerts across security operations software
- Connect with people to troubleshoot observed activity
- Analyze network data, system events, and logs
- Document incidents and prepare thorough reports




- Provide after-hours on-call or overnight support when required

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and three years’ experience
- Recognized Information Technology program and related experience
- Working knowledge of systems operational environments
- Knowledge of KQL and incident troubleshooting
- Security or network certifications are considered assets
