Senior Full Stack Developer – Java / Angular

Location: Toronto, ON

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 4 Days per Week Onsite

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join a high-performing engineering team building contemporary, customer-facing web applications and resilient backend services. You will work with stakeholders to design and deliver best-in-class technology solutions.

You will design, implement, and operate high-scale APIs and front-end applications using Angular and Java, helping shape the future of modern banking technology.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain customer-facing Angular applications and backend services using Java Spring Boot and Node.js across the full development lifecycle.
- Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs, microservices, and integrations with messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Write high-quality, tested code with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; promote test automation and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate within Agile product teams, including product owners, UX designers, QA professionals, and engineers, to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Automate development pipelines and operational runbooks to reduce time-to-market and improve reliability.
- Ensure performance, scalability, and resiliency of services through caching with Redis, load balancing, service discovery, and fault tolerance.
- Apply security best practices, including JWT, OAuth2/OIDC, and TLS/SSL, while adhering to secure coding standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend practical adoption strategies to solve business challenges.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements





- 8+ years of professional software development experience building web applications and backend services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Angular (frontend) and Java Spring Boot (backend).
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with Node.js and developing full-stack solutions using MEAN or similar technology stacks.
- Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with message-based systems such as Kafka and in-memory data stores such as Redis.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL and SQL, and database schema design.
- Experience containerizing and deploying applications on cloud platforms and PaaS environments.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with API specifications and tools such as OpenAPI and Swagger, including API troubleshooting and testing.
- Practical experience with authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, OIDC, and certificate management.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management.
- Hands-on experience using AI models or integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in Agile development teams.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

- Experience with end-to-end UI automation testing tools such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.
- Experience with reactive, event-driven, or message-oriented architectures.
- Strong understanding of microservice design patterns, including circuit breakers, resiliency, service discovery, and observability.
- UX awareness and experience collaborating closely with design teams.
- Familiarity with SaaS monitoring and analytics tools such as Dynatrace, Google Analytics, Firebase, LaunchDarkly, and WalkMe.
