Job Purpose The Regional Director, Central Canada, plays an integral role within Scotia Wealth Insurance Services (SWIS), to enable the delivery and growth of our Wealth Insurance offering across Ontario, Canada. The Regional Director is a key member of SWIS’ leadership team, helping to transform and elevate Canadian Wealth Management’s (CWM) overall Total Wealth strategy. The individual is a strong leader and people manager, responsible for managing a team of highly skilled senior insurance professionals, attracting and retaining top talent and coaching their team to meet the needs of clients and internal partners. As the leader of the Ontario team, the Regional Director collaborates with wealth advisory teams, specialists and business line leadership across Canadian Wealth Management and the Bank in a high-performing and client-focused environment to increase business development and drive business outcomes sooner. The incumbent will work with key stakeholders across Wealth and the Bank to foster high engagement and awareness of effective tax-efficient, estate planning insurance solutions across the region, while ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Key Accountabilities Solid people management and business leadership capabilities, including: Leading a team focused on business development and service excellence; executing on our Total Wealth approach, notably driving financial planning and insurance results Leading, coaching, and motivating wealth advisory teams,



business line leadership and a team of insurance professionals within Ontario to exceed wealth insurance goals, business plans and recognizing/rewarding performance excellence Engaging in group and individual discussions with team members to identify and help solve obstacles, challenges, and needs, and to share key themes with the rest of the leadership team Encouraging the effective use of tools that can be used to properly track pipeline of engagements and provide accurate reporting around activities and forecasting Managing the insurance consultant coverage within the region, ensuring the business lines are well-supported and identifying any gaps or disparities and making recommendations around how to address them Coordinating with other Regional Leaders and the senior leadership team across Canadian Wealth Management to integrate relevant technical knowledge into their coaching and sales management activities Preparing and managing a regional profit plan that aligns to the broader Canadian Wealth Management annual profit planning exercise Managing the recruitment and onboarding of new senior insurance professionals, including terms of employment, administrative requirements, real estate, and any other necessary support Effective member of the Scotia Wealth Insurance leadership team by:



Helping to shape the strategic direction of Wealth Insurance Taking ownership of national initiatives related to the promotion, delivery, and support of Wealth Insurance and CWM’s overall Total Wealth offering Participating in strategic discussions with the rest of the leadership team, that lead to the formulation, development, and implementation of business initiatives Drive engagement of advisors and relationship managers around the Total Wealth offering by: Developing strong relationships with advisors, relationship managers, Branch Managers, and Regional Directors/Vice-Presidents across the business lines Creating awareness within the region around our best-in-class Wealth Insurance offering as a key part of our Total Wealth approach; and the breadth and depth of capabilities within our Wealth Insurance team Facilitating and/or delivering regional training initiatives and educational sessions aimed at improving employee understanding of our offering and various solutions Helping local and regional leaders within the business lines to integrate Total Wealth Planning and wealth insurance solutions capabilities into their sales management and coaching activities Lead the execution of the Canadian Wealth Management team-based offering by: Fostering and developing a solid team environment that will lead to effective collaboration among team members and other local specialists Maintaining a strong understanding and working knowledge of all Canadian Wealth Management capabilities and promoting that same level of knowledge amongst the team Ensuring business processes are followed and that there is strong coordination among Wealth specialists and in the development and execution of recommendations and delivery of solutions Helping advisor teams, either directly or through team members, t
