An excellent teacher can make a lasting difference. We are willing to be flexible to find the right person.

St James' First School and Nursery is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and skilled class teacher to join our welcoming school community. We welcome applications from experienced teachers and early career teachers who share our commitment to helping every child grow and flourish.

The vacancy arises from a teacher leaving a four day a week teaching role to take on additional leadership responsibilities across the Trust. However, we have flexibility in how we organise our staffing and would welcome conversations with candidates seeking different working patterns.

We Would Consider

- Part time appointments of four days a week.

If you are excited by the prospect but unsure whether your availability would fit, please contact us before ruling yourself out—we would be happy to explore the possibilities. At St James', our vision of “Believe and Acheive” shapes our ambition for children and adults alike. We are looking for someone who builds warm relationships, has high expectations and brings thoughtful, engaging teaching to the classroom.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged. Please contact the school office on 01258 840669 to arrange a visit or an informal conversation about the role.
