Join a team that’s powering some of the biggest equipment in mining. In this role, you’ll take on challenging welding repairs, custom fabrication, and assembly work on world-class Komatsu and other heavy industrial equipment—all while working a steady 14x14 rotation.

Reporting to the Welding Shop Supervisor, your main duties will be the maintenance and repair of mining equipment and will include air arc gauging, grinding, flux core, and stick welding. This position will be based in the shop, with field work as required. Candidates must be comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and meet all site-specific safety and certification requirements.

73.45 per hour.

Schedule: 14x14 (Days and Nights)

Perform welding repairs, fabrication, and assembly on Komatsu and other heavy industrial equipment.

Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices.

Customize mobile equipment and/or parts per customer requirements.

Conduct failure analysis and develop repair processes with the Service Manager.

Provide welding support in the shop and occasionally in the field.

Work safely in challenging environments with minimal supervision.

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.





Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and repair (Komatsu experience an asset).

This position works on various customer sites, including: role in SMS Equipment’s competency framework, requiring demonstration of core competencies (customer focus, collaboration, and technical/functional expertise).
