Lead the crew that keeps our snow fleet running. L. Chabot Enterprises Ltd. has been building Manitoba since 1969. We’re a third-generation, family-run heavy civil construction company specializing in aggregates, crushing, roadbuilding, earthworks and winter snow clearing. When the snow flies, our graders, loaders and plow trucks work around the clock, and we need an experienced, organized leader to supervise the winter mechanics who keep them on the road.

The Role

You’ll run winter maintenance from start to finish. You’ll set priorities, assign work to our winter mechanics, follow up until every job is done, and keep parts and equipment ready before the next storm hits. This is a hands-on leadership role for a mechanic who’s ready to manage the work, not just do it.

What You’ll Do

- Supervise, schedule and support a team of winter mechanics
- Assign repair and maintenance work and follow up on every job until it’s done
- Prioritize storm-event breakdowns to get graders, loaders and plow trucks back out fast
- Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and guide repairs
- Manage parts inventory, keeping blades, cutting edges, filters and critical components in stock
- Source parts, vendors and outside services at the right price and turnaround
- Keep accurate digital records of work orders, equipment history and costs
- Coordinate with dispatch and snow supervisors on equipment status during events
- Keep the shop clean, safe and organized

What You Bring

- Experience as a heavy duty mechanic, with supervisory or lead hand experience




- Very strong computer skills; comfortable with email, spreadsheets and fleet or maintenance software
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools for heavy trucks and equipment
- Experience with inventory management and parts sourcing
- Organized, accountable and calm under pressure when equipment is down
- Snow fleet or winter maintenance experience (preferred)
- Red Seal (preferred)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- Experience integrating or rolling out digital maintenance programs is an asset
