Lead PostgreSQL and ClickHouse strategy at Nue.Io while shaping reliable, scalable data infrastructure for 10x growth across Canada’s remote-hybrid team.

As Staff Engineer, Datastores, you will direct the polyglot data layer spanning transactional, analytical, caching, and streaming systems. You will own technical direction, reliability, performance, cost, and architecture across production datastores. The role combines hands-on engineering with company-wide standards, migrations, observability, and incident leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set multi-year strategy across PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, caching, and streaming
- Own datastore reliability, availability, performance, cost, SLOs, and operations
- Deliver scale-out architecture supporting tenfold customer growth




- Lead managed PostgreSQL migration with zero data loss
- Establish resilient schemas, observability, delivery, and recovery practices

Requirements:
- Ten-plus years in backend, infrastructure, or data platform engineering
- Five-plus years owning production databases at SaaS scale
- Expert PostgreSQL internals, optimization, indexing, partitioning, and replication
- Hands-on columnar or OLAP datastore experience
- Experience with AWS managed databases and horizontally scaled architectures
