Apply financial analysis and advanced Excel skills as a contract Financial Planning Analyst with the Town of Milton in Ontario. Support municipal departments through budget and reporting expertise. Reporting to the Supervisor, Financial Reporting, this analyst provides program-specific financial support to departmental management teams and project managers. The work includes budgeting, variance analysis, business case analysis, financial models, and external reporting. It also supports Council reporting, municipal initiatives, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial consultation to departments and project managers
- Coordinate annual operating and capital budgeting processes
- Complete monthly and quarterly variance analysis




- Develop financial models and internal reports
- Prepare external grant and agency submissions

Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- Three years’ experience in financial analysis and budgeting
- Knowledge of Municipal Act and public sector accounting standards
- Advanced analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency
- Municipal finance experience and CPA progress preferred Support Milton’s financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and analytical priorities through solid municipal finance expertise.
