Build FTQC hardware through optics, Python automation, and system integration at Xanadu. Work hands-on in a laboratory setting solving optical performance challenges. As a Photonics Engineer, you will support Xanadu’s Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing systems. You will bridge empirical laboratory data with predictive models guiding the hardware roadmap. The work covers phase and polarization locking technologies, characterization, modeling, and device optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute phase and polarization actuation experiments
- Automate laboratory testing using custom Python scripts
- Characterize and benchmark incoming hardware independently
- Translate data into optimized device designs
- Model optical loss and system performance
Requirements:
- Optics experience building and troubleshooting laboratory experiments
- Production-ready product development experience
- Mathematical modeling using analytical and numerical tools
- Understanding of thermal management and vibration dynamics
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related discipline Apply photonics, modeling, Python, and experimental skills to advance Xanadu’s fault-tolerant quantum computing hardware systems.
