Pacific Yacht Systems (PYS) is a Vancouver-based marine electrical and electronic systems company specializing in complex yacht systems, refits, and technical design. We work on real boats, real systems, and real problems — from lithium power systems and charging architectures to navigation electronics, integration, and diagnostics.

Over the past several years, our PYS TechTalk YouTube channel has grown to over 46,000 subscribers , becoming one of the most trusted technical boating resources online. We’re now ready to turn that authority into a true business asset — and we’re looking for someone to own and drive that next phase .

The Role (Why this job exists)

This is not a social media posting role .

We are hiring a Technical Content & Channel Growth Lead to take full ownership of our technical content ecosystem — primarily YouTube — and use it to:

- Educate boat owners
- Build trust before first contact
- Support higher-quality, higher-value projects
- Reduce friction in the sales and consultation process

You’ll be given autonomy, access, and real projects to document — not stock footage or scripted fluff.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

1) PYS TechTalk - YouTube (Primary Focus)

- Plan, film, edit, and publish technical video content

- Capture real PYS projects on-site (boats, installs, refits)

- Produce:

- ~1 monthly Project Highlight video

- ~3-4 TechTalk Q&A; / educational videos per month

- Own thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and publishing cadence

Channel Optimization & Subscriber Leverage

- Audit and rebuild the YouTube channel structure:

- Homepage layout

- Playlists

- “Start Here” / Top Videos for new viewers

- Update legacy video descriptions and links

- Improve visual consistency and branding across thumbnails

- Turn subscribers into informed, high-trust prospects

3) Website Content & Conversion Support

- Improve messaging and structure on:

- Consultation & Design page

- Services pages

- Align website content with YouTube authority

- Support clearer inbound pathways from content → consultation

4) Secondary Social Channels (Optional but Valuable)

- Re-establish Facebook and/or Instagram as proof-of-work channels :

- Repurpose high-quality content from YouTube

- Focus on craftsmanship and technical credibility (not trends)

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for someone who:

- Has experience filming and editing real-world, technical or industrial work :

- Is comfortable working around boats, tools, noise, tight spaces, and imperfect lighting

- Can explain technical concepts clearly without dumbing them down

- Works independently and doesn’t need daily task lists

- Thinks in systems, not one-off posts





Solid bonus if you have experience with :

- Trades, engineering, marine, automotive, aviation, or industrial environments
- Growing or managing a YouTube channel (personal or professional)
- Technical storytelling or educational content

Who This Role Is Not For

- Influencer-style content creators
- Trend-focused social media managers
- TikTok-first or lifestyle branding specialists

Compensation & Growth

- Salary : $75,000 - $90,000 CAD (depending on experience)
- Benefits : Standard benefits package
- Growth Path : This role is expected to grow in scope and impact. Clear performance metrics will be established, with the opportunity for compensation increases as business leverage is demonstrated.
