Your days will include:
- Assisting the Barn Manager for all their responsibility
- Working in the R&D; Finishing barn to assist and help barn manager for R&D; related work
- Data entry
- Trial start-up which includes animal allocation etc.
- Trial feed samples collection
- Scaling pigs (pen weights + individual weights)
- Carry out the feeding program
- Tattooing of pigs
- Shipping pigs to Market
- Recognizing and treating livestock health issues
- Other duties as assigned
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
- Experience in working with hogs, managing hog flow, health and biosecurity
- Interest in Research & Development
- Attentive to details, well organized and reliable
- A team player and good work ethic
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License & reliable means of transportation
- Minimum 2 years swine technician experience an asset
- Availability to work every second weekend
