Architect QA automation infrastructure remotely from Canada, using Java, Python, Kubernetes, and test frameworks to improve engineering productivity.

Upgrade seeks a Senior QA Automation Engineer for its QA-Core team. You will build automation infrastructure, tooling, and agentic solutions rather than perform traditional product QA. The role supports engineering teams by designing services, deploying them, and operating them in production clusters.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and own functional and performance testing frameworks

Build agents that automate existing QA workflows

Develop and deploy automation-dependent applications and services

Iterate prototypes into monitored, mature production solutions

Identify framework gaps and develop solutions

Requirements:

Five to seven-plus years building production software

Depth across test infrastructure and developer tooling

Experience building agentic solutions from the ground up

Hands-on microservices and Kubernetes deployment lifecycle experience

Ability to independently scope ambiguous problems

Apply QA automation, agentic development, Kubernetes, and platform engineering expertise to Upgrade’s remote Canada team.
