Journeyperson Electrician – Commercial Construction

AltaPro Electric is looking for experienced Journeyperson Electricians with strong commercial construction experience to join our growing team.

Your Key Responsibilities

· Commercial and institutional electrical construction

· Installing services, switchgear, transformers, panels, feeders and branch circuits

· Installing EMT, rigid conduit, PVC, cable tray and raceway systems

· Reading electrical drawings, specifications and single-line diagrams

· Installing commercial lighting and lighting controls





· Installing motors, VFDs, HVAC equipment and controls

· Installing fire alarm and life-safety systems

· Troubleshooting and commercial renovation work

· Coordinating installations with other trades

· Mentoring and providing direction to apprentices

· Maintaining high standards for safety, quality and productivity

Your Qualifications

· Alberta Journeyperson Electrician certification, Red Seal endorsement preferred

· 3–5+ years of commercial electrical construction experience preferred

· Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code

· Strong conduit bending and commercial installation skills

· Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications

· Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

· Dependable, organized and safety-focused

· Willingness to mentor and develop apprentices

· Pride in quality workmanship

• Leadership for Safety Excellence, Electrical Safety Training, CSTS2020, which includes WHMIS

• Certificates for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms and Fall Protection

Additional Assets;

Software experience, such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office 365. Touch Plan, MS Excel

Construction project management and estimating software, Healthcare, IPD and commercial Solar PV experience are also areas AltaPro currently identifies as valuable in its commercial project leadership recruiting.
