Position Scope:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Agricultural Equipment Technician to manage the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our modern farm fleet, field equipment, and packing facilities.

- Harvest Season (March - November): Focus on fast-paced field diagnostics, pre-season preparation, and rapid turnaround repairs to ensure maximum uptime across our tractors, sprayers, and harvesting machinery during critical operational windows.
- Off Season (December - February): Transition to comprehensive shop overhauls, preventative winterization, implement fabrication, and maintenance across our automated packing line and facility infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform scheduled preventive servicing, oil and filter changes, fluid checks, and general upkeep on tractors, sprayers, flail/rotary mowers, spading machines, row mulchers, and harvest equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults across a wide range of agricultural machinery, power units, and automated systems.




- Lead pre-season prep and field repairs for motorized picking platforms, orchard tractors, sprayers, and bin-handling equipment to prevent downtime during critical spraying and harvest windows.
- Assist with routine inspections, belt/bearing replacements, and preventive maintenance on automated packing lines and cold storage facility equipment during off-peak periods.
- Execute basic metal fabrication, structural repairs, and implement modifications to meet specialized orchard needs.
- Maintain detailed equipment service logs, monitor spare parts inventory, and coordinate parts orders with management to maintain essential stock levels.
- Safely operate tractors and orchard machinery when required to support operations and bridge coverage gaps.
- Ensure all machinery, safety guards, and shop operations strictly comply with company and occupational health and safety regulations.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

- On-site in an agricultural environment.
- Exposure to external climate conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods is required.

Qualifications & Skills

Requirements:

- High School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in agricultural, heavy equipment, or industrial mechanical repair.
- Proficiency in reading technical schematics and using digital multimeters to safely diagnose basic electrical circuits.
- Valid driver's license

Solid Assets:

- Red Seal Journeyman Certification in Agricultural Equipment, Heavy Duty Equipment, or a related mechanical trade (or registered apprentice working toward certification).
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
