After-School Academic Support Teacher

Outstanding Learning Center (OLC) is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dependable teacher to support children in our after-school program. The successful candidate will help students build confidence and strengthen their skills in English, Mathematics and other school subjects.

Responsibilities

- Assist students with homework and provide support in English, Mathematics, reading, writing and other school subjects
- Prepare and lead engaging, age-appropriate learning activities for children
- Explain concepts clearly and adapt support to students’ different learning styles and needs
- Encourage students’ confidence, curiosity, creativity and respect for others
- Monitor students’ progress and share relevant updates with the team and parents
- Help maintain a safe, organized and positive learning setting




- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support students’ learning and well-being

Qualifications

- Experience working with children in a teaching, tutoring or childcare setting
- Strong knowledge of English and Mathematics
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly
- Patient, adaptable, organized and dependable
- Education, Early Childhood Education or tutoring experience is an asset
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs is an asset
- First Aid/CPR certification and a Vulnerable Sector Check are preferred

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
