Pharmacy Assistant (Full – Time)

The Pharmacy Assistant plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy and ensuring a smooth, efficient experience for both patients and the pharmacy team. This position focuses on prescription processing, customer service, inventory management, and maintaining accurate records, all while upholding the highest standards of safety, organization, and confidentiality.

Working closely with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, the Pharmacy Assistant helps create a welcoming environment for patients and contributes to a well-functioning workflow. Success in this role comes from attention to detail, reliability, and a strong commitment to supporting patient care and team collaboration in a fast-paced community pharmacy setting.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

- Enter prescriptions into Kroll and assist with preparation and packaging
- Greet patients and support with non-clinical inquiries (refer clinical questions to the pharmacist)
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Order, receive, stock, and rotate inventory; monitor for expired products
- Maintain accurate inventory and prescription records (scanning, faxing, filing)
- Assist with proper disposal of consumer and pharmacy waste
- Keep the pharmacy clean, organized, and compliant with safety and infection control standards
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and team members to support workflow
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all policies, standards, and legislation
- Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to learning and growth

Applicant Qualification Requirements

- Previous experience in a community or retail pharmacy setting.
- Experience inputting, filling, and preparing prescriptions and compliance packaging.
- Experience working with pharmacy software programs; knowledge of Kroll is an asset.




- Solid communication and customer service skills.
- High degree of initiative, organizational skills, and time management ability.
- Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced work environment.
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant or technician certification program (asset).

SHIFT

- Monday - Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm
- Rotating Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm
- Wage is based on experience

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
