Position: Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and operation of manufacturing equipment in our Natural Health Products (NHP) facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently, while maintaining compliance with GMP, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, cleaning, and scheduled preventive maintenance on production machinery to minimize equipment downtime.
- Equipment Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues with manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Production Equipment Support: Maintain and repair equipment used in NHP manufacturing, including mixing machines, blending equipment, gummy production equipment, filling machines, packaging machines, conveyors, and other production-line machinery.
- Equipment Setup & Adjustment: Assist with equipment installation, setup, changeovers, calibration, and adjustments to ensure smooth production operations.
- Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance records, including equipment inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance schedules, and replacement parts.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow GMP, WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and company safety procedures when performing maintenance work.
- Production Support:



Work closely with Production and Quality teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment meets production and quality requirements.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and secure maintenance work area.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education or technical training in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in industrial equipment maintenance, preferably in food, pharmaceutical, or natural health product manufacturing.
- Experience maintaining production and packaging equipment is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of mechanical systems, motors, pumps, bearings, belts, pneumatic systems, and basic electrical components.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring and testing equipment.
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings, follow equipment manuals, and understand maintenance procedures.
- Basic welding, fabrication, and equipment modification skills are an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with production teams.
- Good communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
