Overview

The Phlebotomist/Medical Lab Assistant supports patient care by collecting specimens and assisting with laboratory workflows. The role combines attentive patient interaction, careful specimen handling, and accurate documentation to help ensure samples are ready for testing and results can be processed reliably.

Responsibilities

- Perform phlebotomy and collect, label, and prepare specimens according to established procedures.
- Welcome patients, explain collection steps clearly, and provide calm, respectful support throughout the process.
- Assist with routine laboratory tasks, maintain accurate records, and organize specimens and supplies.
- Follow applicable safety and privacy practices, and communicate specimen concerns or workflow updates to the care team.
- Ability to perform 12 lead ECG.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistant experience.





Recognized MLA certification or equivalent training preferred.

Strong venipuncture skills and confidence with difficult blood draws.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage patient flow efficiently.

Professional, reliable and patient-focused attitude.

Position Details:

Part-time position.

Primarily afternoon shifts.

Approximately 3–5 afternoons per week, with flexibility.
