We do sophisticated work in a collegial setting where people can grow.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Family Law Clerk to manage a full caseload on their own, support several lawyers at once and mentor junior clerks. You know the Family Law Rules well, you’re comfortable with financial disclosure and you stay steady when a file gets contentious.

What You’ll Do

- Prepare briefs for case conferences, settlement conferences and trial management conferences, as well as motion records and uncontested divorce materials.
- Prepare support and equalization calculations in DivorceMate under the Child Support Guidelines and the Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines.
- Gather, organize and review financial disclosure, such as tax returns, Notices of Assessment, pension valuations and business records. Spot gaps and follow up with clients directly.
- Draft separation agreements,

marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements for lawyer review.
- Track limitation periods, court dates, filing deadlines and Rule 13 disclosure obligations across many files at once.
- File through Justice Services Online and the Family Submission Online Portal, and arrange service.
- Act as a contact for clients, opposing counsel, court staff, the Family Responsibility Office, the Office of the Children’s Lawyer and valuators.
- Train junior clerks and review their files.
- Record billable time accurately every day.

What You Bring

- At least 4 years of experience as a family law clerk, preferably in the GTA.
- A Law Clerk diploma or equivalent education.
- Strong knowledge of the Family Law Rules, the Family Law Act, the Divorce Act and the Children’s Law Reform Act, and of Toronto court procedures.
- Advanced DivorceMate skills. Experience with Clio Manage and Microsoft 365 is an asset.
- A record of handling high-volume, high-conflict files with little oversight.
- Clear, precise writing and steady, qualified communication with clients who are going through a difficult time.
- Sound judgment, discretion and composure under pressure.

Why Unified LLP

- Salary of $133,000 – $155,000, plus dental and extended health benefits.
