About the Position

We are looking for a skilled, dependable, and customer-focused Appliance Installation Technician to join our team, servicing Nanaimo and the surrounding Mid-Island communities.

This position is ideal for someone with a robust background in residential trades who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and understands that a professional installation involves much more than simply connecting an appliance.

We are looking for someone who has experience working in residential environments, whether through appliance repair, installation, custom carpentry, plumbing, electrical, renovations, or general construction. The right person will have the practical knowledge and problem-solving skills to handle a variety of installation situations while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and professionalism.

Equally important is the ability to communicate confidently and respectfully with customers. You will regularly be working inside people's homes, so being personable, courteous, clean, careful, and respectful of their property is essential.

Key ResponsibilitiesAppliance Installation & Technical Work

- Perform qualified residential appliance installations, including dishwashers, refrigerators, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, laundry appliances, bathroom fixtures, and other household appliances and products
- Complete installations with a strong focus on accuracy, functionality, appearance, and manufacturer specifications.
- Work with existing plumbing, electrical connections, cabinetry, countertops, ventilation, and other residential infrastructure.
- Ability to lift and move products and work in tight spaces when required
- Assess installation locations and identify potential challenges before beginning work.
- Make minor adjustments and modifications where appropriate to ensure a clean,



secure, and professional installation.
- Recognize when an installation requires additional trades, specialized work, additional charges, or customer approval before proceeding.
- Test appliances and verify proper operation upon completion.
- Identify and communicate installation concerns, deficiencies, or potential issues to customers and management.

Attention to Detail & Protection of Customer Property

- Take exceptional care when transporting, moving, handling, and installing appliances.
- Protect flooring, walls, cabinetry, countertops, doorways, and surrounding surfaces from scratches, dents, and other damage.
- Use appropriate moving equipment, floor protection, drop cloths, and protective materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the installation.
- Ensure appliances are level, aligned, properly secured, and professionally finished.
- Leave the customer's home clean, tidy, and free of packaging debris and installation materials.
- Take ownership of the quality of your work and address any concerns promptly and professionally.

Customer Service & Communication

- Represent the company professionally while working in customers' homes.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with homeowners regarding installation, required scope of work, and additional charges
- Be approachable, friendly, and confident when answering customer questions.
- Explain appliance operation and basic features to customers when appropriate.
- Set realistic expectations and communicate any installation complications before proceeding.
- Handle customer concerns with patience, professionalism, and a solution-oriented attitude.




- Understand that customer satisfaction and trust are just as important as the technical quality of the installation.

Reliability & Professionalism

- Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled appointments.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Work independently while also being a reliable team member.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work vehicles organized and maintained.
- Complete installation paperwork, job notes, and required documentation accurately.
- Demonstrate accountability, honesty, and pride in representing the company.
- Be adaptable and comfortable working in a variety of residential environments.

Skills & Experience We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous Experience in home service or residential skilled trades
- Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot practical installation challenges.
- An understanding of residential plumbing and electrical connections, working within applicable qualifications and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
- The ability to safely lift, move, and position heavy appliances with appropriate equipment and assistance.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A valid driver's licence and a reliable driving record.
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay organized.
- Great personality to work in a close knit small buisiness

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
