Cedarstone Group Inc. is hiring reliable, hardworking General Labourers to support residential renovation and structural construction projects in Toronto.

This role is temporary, labour-intensive underpinning and excavation digging on an active downtown Toronto residential renovation site. It is tied to the excavation and underpinning phase of this project only. We will confirm the expected end date before you start. This is not a permanent role, and we are not promising work beyond this phase.

This is on-site work only. It is not remote.

Start: as soon as possible.

What you’ll do

- Digging and hand excavation for underpinning and foundation support, as directed by the site lead
- Moving spoil, wheelbarrow and shovel work, loading out
- Site setup, protection, cleanup, and keeping walkways and egress clear
- Assisting concrete, formwork and waterproofing crews as directed
- Following the site lead on excavation support, access and safe limits — no one digs outside the marked area or alters shoring

This is physically demanding outdoor work on an active construction site, including confined conditions at times, in all weather.

Hours

- Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Overtime after 44 hours per week, paid at 1.5×

Occasional Saturday may be required depending on the dig schedule

What we’re looking for

Comfortable with sustained physical digging, lifting and carrying for a full shift

- Reliable, punctual, and able to make early morning starts

Able to take direction and work as part of a team





- Able to follow written and verbal safety direction in English
- Own transportation to a downtown Toronto site
- Excavation, underpinning, foundations, formwork, demolition or residential renovation experience preferred
- Valid Ontario Working at Heights training is an asset if fall protection is required
- Safety boots required (CSA-approved)

We do not require Canadian work experience, and we do not screen on where you gained your experience.

Safety

Work is carried out under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and O. Reg. 213/91 (Construction Projects). Excavations deeper than 1.2 m are not entered unless walls are solid rock, properly sloped, shored, or protected by a support system. Utility locates are required before digging. No one works alone in a trench.

Pay and benefits

$18.00 – $20.00 per hour
