Love clean books and balanced reconciliations? AMC Insurance is hiring a Bookkeeper for the accounting team at our Surrey Head Office. You'll keep the day-to-day accounting for one of BC's growing independent insurance brokerages accurate and on time.

What you'll do

- Full-cycle bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries
- Reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts and insurer (carrier) statements
- Process insurer and broker statements, commissions and company payables
- Keep financial records and supporting documents organized and audit-ready
- Help with month-end and year-end close and work with our external accountants
- Look into and resolve discrepancies with our branch teams

What you bring

- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage or similar)
- Great attention to detail and organization




- Clear communication and a problem-solving attitude

Nice to have

- Experience in an insurance brokerage (premium trust accounting, direct and agency bill)
- Applied Epic (or another brokerage management system) accounting experience
- Accounting diploma or progress toward a CPA designation
