Requirements
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items, including burgers, cheesesteaks, chicken, grilled sandwiches, fries, poutine, and other dishes.
- Plan menus, estimate ingredient requirements, and determine food portion sizes and costs.
- Prepare ingredients, sauces, and toppings, and accommodate customers’ food allergies or intolerances.
- Operate grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely, while monitoring food quality and cooking temperatures.
- Requisition and order food, kitchen supplies, and equipment, and maintain inventory records.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas,



and maintain clean and sanitary workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers in food preparation, cooking, and safe food handling.
- Coordinate with other staff to prepare accurate customer orders promptly.

Skills

- Ability to prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes according to recipes and customer orders.
- Skills in ingredient preparation, portion control, and food presentation.
- Ability to safely operate grills, deep fryers, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of safe food handling, food storage, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to accommodate food allergies, intolerances, and special dietary requests.
- Ability to monitor food quality and cooking temperatures.
- Ability to maintain food inventory records and identify supplies needed.
- Strong organization, time management, and teamwork skills in a busy kitchen.
