JOB DESCRIPTION:

WESTBORO MONTESSORI SCHOOL, Ottawa, ON is seeking a Montessori Teacher Assistant, age group 3-6. At Westboro Montessori we value positive, responsible, passionate, skilled team players. Our goal in each of our prepared environments is to foster independence, consistency, to empower the children to find the joy in learning to reach their full potential and become life long learners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To maintain a positive and consistent approach towards child / classroom management
- Keep shelves tidy, clean materials, mend items, and ensure the classroom is clean, orderly, and inviting




- Watch children quietly without interrupting and shield the lead teacher's presentations from interruptions
- Use a calm, soft voice, polite language, and positive redirection to guide children's social interactions and conflict resolution
- Help manage snack times, outdoor play, nap times, arrivals, and dismissals
- Help children practice self-care, hygiene, dressing, and practical life skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with educators and staff
- To demonstrate knowledge of all sections of the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA)

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 per week
