About the Role

Mill River Resort is seeking a dedicated and energetic 2nd Cook to join our culinary team. Working alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will take ownership of your assigned kitchen station and help prepare quality dishes with care, consistency, and attention to detail.

We are looking for an experienced cook who takes pride in their work, communicates well with others, and can keep their station running smoothly during a busy service.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage your assigned station, such as grill, sauté, or garde manger, ensuring efficient service and consistent presentation.
- Prepare ingredients and dishes according to established recipes, including chopping vegetables, butchering proteins, and making sauces.
- Taste and inspect ingredients and prepared dishes to maintain freshness and quality.
- Support the Sous Chef in directing junior cooks and dishwashers during busy shifts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, following all health and safety requirements.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and minimizing food waste.

Qualifications





- At least two years of experience in a full-service restaurant kitchen.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- A positive attitude and clear communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- A Food Handler’s Certificate or equivalent.

- Pay: $23 per hour
- Hours: At least 40 hours per week
- Work location: In person at Mill River Resort, 180 Mill River Resort Rd. – Route 136, Woodstock, Prince Edward Island
