Position Summary

The Tire Technician supports both the technical and customer service functions of the store. This role is responsible for tire installation, balancing, rotations, and repairs while also assisting customers with product selection, service recommendations, and maintaining a safe, efficient shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Tire Installation & Mechanical Service

- Install, mount, and balance passenger and light truck tires
- Perform tire rotations, flat repairs, and seasonal tire changeovers
- Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, or safety concerns
- Maintain proper torque specifications and follow manufacturer guidelines
- Assist with wheel alignments or mechanical services when required

Customer Sales & Service

- Assist customers in selecting appropriate tires based on vehicle type, driving needs, and budget
- Provide clear explanations of service recommendations
- Support the front counter during busy periods
- Promote additional products or services when appropriate
- Deliver a positive customer experience from check-in to vehicle pickup

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized shop workplace
- Ensure proper use of equipment and lifting devices




- Adhere to occupational health and safety standards

Team Collaboration

- Work closely with service advisors and technicians to ensure efficient workflow
- Support team members during peak seasonal periods
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture

Qualifications

Experience

- Previous tire technician or automotive service experience preferred
- Experience in retail or customer-facing roles considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools

Skills

- Strong customer service skills

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures
- Ability to work in a physically demanding shop environment

Work Schedule

- Seasonal position with the opportunity for permanent employment
- Full-time hours with evenings and weekends as required
- Seasonal overtime during peak tire change seasons
