About Talentlink Staffing
Talentlink Staffing Inc. connects GTA employers with reliable general labour andwarehouse talent. We work with manufacturers, distribution centres, logistics operatorsand food processors who need dependable people, fast, without the churn. We're agrowing agency, which means the person in this seat won't be a cog in a machine. You'llhelp shape how we find, win and grow our client base.
The Role
As our Business Development Representative, you'll be the first conversation many GTA employers have with Talentlink. Your mission is to open doors with mid-sized companies(roughly 100–500 employees) that hire general labour and warehouse staff, understand their workforce challenges, and turn those conversations into long-term client partnerships.
This is a hunter role. You'll spend most of your time prospecting, booking discovery meetings, and building a pipeline that keeps our recruiters busy.
What You'll Do
- Prospect GTA employers in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, distribution and food production using job board signals, LinkedIn, industry news and our lead lists
- Run multi-touch outreach through cold calls, email, LinkedIn and in-person drop-ins at industrial parks and distribution hubs
- Book and lead discovery meetings with operations managers, plant managers, HR leaders and site directors
- Learn each prospect's hiring volume, seasonal peaks, turnover pain points and safety requirements, and match them to the right staffing solution (temporary, temp-to-perm or direct hire)
- Prepare quotes and proposals with leadership,
and negotiate bill rates and terms
- Keep our CRM accurate and up to date: every call, email, meeting and next step
- Hand off new accounts smoothly to recruitment and stay involved through the first placements to make sure the client is happy
- Grow existing accounts by uncovering new sites, shifts and roles
- Hit weekly and monthly activity targets (calls, meetings booked, proposals sent) and quarterly revenue goals
- Bring market feedback back to the team: what competitors are offering, which industries are hiring, and what messaging is landing
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of B2B sales, business development or account management experience(staffing, recruitment, logistics or industrial services is a strong asset)
- A genuine comfort with cold outreach. You pick up the phone and you don't take a"no" personally
- Robust communication skills, in writing and in conversation, with a confident, consultative style
- Self-motivation and organization: you can manage your own pipeline and calendar without someone looking over your shoulder
- Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce or similar) and LinkedIn
- Knowledge of the GTA's industrial landscape, such as Mississauga, Brampton,Vaughan, Etobicoke, Milton and Scarborough
- A valid Ontario G driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle for client visits
Nice to have:
- Experience selling staffing services to warehouse, logistics or manufacturing clients
- An existing network of operations or HR contacts in the GTA
- Basic understanding of Ontario employment standards and health and safety requirements for temporary workers
- Additional languages such as Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, Spanish, Portuguese or French
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission on every account you bring in
- Mileage reimbursement and a phone allowance
- Hybrid flexibility, balancing office, remote and field days
- Paid time off and group health benefits after probation
- A clear path to Account Executive as the company grows
- Real influence: your ideas on targeting, messaging and process will be heard and used
A Day in the Life
You might start the morning reviewing which GTA employers posted new warehouse jobs overnight, then block two hours for calls and LinkedIn outreach. After lunch, you're visiting a distribution centre in Brampton for a discovery meeting with their operations manager, then stopping by two neighbouring facilities to introduce yourself. You finish the day logging notes in the CRM and sending a proposal for a client that needs 15 forklift operators for peak season.
