Licensed Electrician - Lakeside Mechanical Services | Parry Sound & Surrounding Area

Lakeside Mechanical Services is looking for a skilled, dependable licensed electrician to join our team. We provide electrical, heating and cooling services to homes, cottages and businesses throughout Parry Sound and the surrounding area.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, troubleshoots effectively and communicates well with customers, contractors and coworkers. This position includes service calls, renovations, new installations and electrical connections for equipment supplied by our team.

Responsibilities

- Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures and distribution systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and manufacturer instructions to determine electrical layouts and installation requirements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems using appropriate testing equipment, hand tools and power tools.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues and recommend repairs.
- Clean, adjust and repair electrical equipment and systems, including completing warranty service.
- Complete electrical work for renovations, recent construction and equipment installations, including hot tubs, saunas, HVAC equipment and generators, within the scope of your licence.
- Install and upgrade panels, circuits, disconnects and related equipment.
- Review job requirements and identify materials needed before starting work.
- Complete work in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations and manufacturer requirements.
- Coordinate with the Electrical Manager, office staff, contractors and other trades regarding timelines, project phases and work progress.
- Communicate additional work requirements, material needs and scheduling changes promptly.




- Use ServiceBox daily to review job information and record work completed, materials used, photos and follow-up requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and take care of company tools, equipment and vehicles.
- Support and guide apprentices as required.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled (one week per month).

Qualifications

- Valid 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician or 309C Domestic and Rural Electrician Certificate of Qualification, with assigned work appropriate to the scope of the licence held.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low-voltage applications.
- Experience with residential electrical installations, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to use testing equipment, hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to safe workmanship.
- Strong communication, organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record.
- Comfortable using a phone or tablet for work orders, notes and photos.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 lb and perform work on ladders and in crawl spaces, attics and outdoor conditions.

Experience with cottage properties, panel upgrades, generators, hot tubs, saunas and HVAC electrical connections would be an asset.

Compensation: Based on qualifications and experience.
