Melonhead Kids Salon is looking for a talented, experienced hairstylist to join our Bramalea team in Brampton!

We're an established children's hair salon with a loyal client base, a welcoming team, and a reputation for making haircuts a positive experience for children and their families.

We're looking for a confident, well-rounded stylist who takes pride in their work, genuinely enjoys working with children, and wants to be part of a busy, supportive salon.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're searching for an experienced hairstylist with strong technical skills, a positive personality, and a passion for providing exceptional service.

Confidence cutting BOTH boys' and girls' hair independently is essential.

Our ideal candidate brings:

- Versatile Haircutting Skills:



Strong experience with boys' fades, tapers, clipper cuts, scissor cuts, and blending, as well as girls' layers, bobs, long and short haircuts, and face-framing styles.
- Professional Experience: Proven salon haircutting experience with the confidence to deliver consistent, high-quality results independently.
- Excellent Communication: Strong spoken English skills to conduct consultations with parents, understand haircut requests, explain recommendations, and communicate comfortably with children.
- A Genuine Connection with Kids: A friendly, patient, understanding approach, particularly with young children, nervous clients, and first haircuts.
- Efficiency Without Compromising Quality: The ability to work comfortably in a busy, appointment-based salon while maintaining excellent haircutting standards.
- Reliability & Professionalism: Someone dependable, punctual, motivated, and committed to providing an outstanding customer experience.
- A Team-First Attitude: Someone who takes initiative, supports coworkers, and helps maintain a clean, organized, welcoming salon.

Experience working with a variety of hair textures is a strong asset.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Previous professional hairstyling experience with strong independent cutting skills.
- Confidence performing BOTH boys' and girls' haircuts.




- Valid Ontario hairstyling certification, provisional certification, or registered apprenticeship authorization permitting you to practise hairstyling.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Weekend availability is required.

Position Type: Permanent, Full-time or Part-time

Location: Bramalea City Centre, Brampton, Ontario

Compensation: Starting at $20/hour, with performance-based commission opportunities of up to 45%, plus 100% of tips. Actual earnings depend on service sales, hours worked, and commission eligibility.
