Role

Rona in Fort Nelson, BC is looking for an energetic yard person / sales associate to join our team! The Yard Person will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while safely loading, unloading, and organizing building materials in the lumber yard and outdoor storage areas. This role ensures the yard is clean, safe, and well-stocked, supporting both customers and store operations. Must have excellent product knowledge. Must be ambitious, self-motivated, and organized.

Key Responsibilities

Yard Person

- Greet and assist customers in the yard area
- Load and unload lumber, drywall, fencing, roofing, and other building materials
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment when loading
- Verify customer orders for accuracy when loading
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of yard inventory
- Follow all safety policies and procedures




- Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment
- Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or construction environment preferred
- Excellent knowledge of building materials, hardware, tools, or home improvement an asset
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to safety compliance
- In store sales experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment
- Must relocate to Fort Nelson, BC

Compensation

- $25.00–$27.00 per hour
- Full time – weekend and evening shifts may be required
