Gas Technician – Furnace & Boiler Service

About the Position

Forward Mechanical Services is a growing plumbing and HVAC company serving Durham Region and the GTA. We are looking for a gas technician with furnace and boiler experience who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and treats customers well.

This position starts with hands-on service, maintenance, repairs, and installations. We are also looking toward the future: the right person will have an opportunity to grow into a leadership and management role, helping oversee technicians, coordinate work, and develop our heating and HVAC division.

Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot, service, and repair gas furnaces, boilers, and water heaters.
- Perform preventative maintenance, seasonal startups, and safety checks.
- Install and replace heating equipment within the scope of your qualifications.
- Communicate professionally with customers and explain repair recommendations.
- Complete accurate service reports and maintain clear job notes.
- Keep your work vehicle, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
- Work independently while supporting the rest of the team.

Qualifications

- Valid G2 Gas Technician licence; G1 is an asset.
- Practical experience servicing and troubleshooting furnaces and boilers.
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with a clean driving record.




- Good communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- A dependable attitude and commitment to quality workmanship.

313A or 313D certification is an asset, but is not required. Applicants whose experience is focused on gas heating equipment are encouraged to apply.

Experience with hydronic heating, pumps, zone valves, and heating controls is also an asset.
