Overview
Join our dedicated Walkway Crew as a team member responsible for shoveling, salting, and maintaining safe, accessible pathways during winter months. This energetic role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in ensuring safety and convenience for all. As part of our team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining walkways transparent and hazard-free in all weather conditions. This paid position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to community safety while developing valuable skills in outdoor maintenance and teamwork. This Route is South Burlington and Oakville Lakeshore Road from Bronte Rd to Downtown Burlington.

Duties

- Clean driving record and valid G license is required!
- Smartphone and our snow app downloaded for service record keeping and hours worked.
- Shovel snow and clear ice from designated walkways, stairs, and entry points efficiently and thoroughly.
- Use BOSS Snow Rator's for sidewalks.
- Apply salt or other de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and ensure safe footing for pedestrians.
- Monitor weather conditions regularly to anticipate additional clearing needs or safety hazards.
- Maintain equipment such as shovels, salt spreaders, and safety gear, ensuring they are clean, functional, and ready for use.
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding weather updates or safety concerns.




- Keep detailed logs of work completed, including areas cleared and materials used in our Snow App.
- Fill up truck with gasoline and all jerry cans at the yard before you head out for your shift.
- Keep your salt bin in truck filled up at all times.

Qualifications

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including cold temperatures, snow, rain, or wind.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to shovel snow, lift heavy loads, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy winter periods.
- Basic math skills for measuring salt application rates and managing supplies accurately.
- Previous experience in outdoor maintenance, landscaping, or food service industries is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to snow removal and outdoor work environments.
- Reliable transportation to arrive promptly at scheduled shifts.
- A proactive attitude with a focus on teamwork and customer service when interacting with colleagues or community members. Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 per week
