Whitewater leadership training at YMCA Camp Pine Crest combines canoeing expertise with participant mentorship in Torrance, Ontario. This seasonal contract requires six-day availability.

The Leadership Trainer White Water facilitates leadership development programs for children and youth. You will build self-awareness, group-development skills, resilience, confidence, and technical outdoor skills through in office programming and wilderness canoe trips. Trainers provide ongoing instruction, mentorship, support, and 24/7 supervision while residing with participants.

Key Responsibilities:

- Facilitate leadership activities, learning sessions, and participant debriefs
- Coach participants toward constructive action and group well-being
- Plan wilderness canoe trips, menus, gear, and risk management




- Supervise participants during programs and overnight accommodations
- Maintain, inventory, prepare, and repair assigned equipment

Requirements:

- Hold required first aid, rescue, lifeguard, food, and canoe certifications
- Lead overnight wilderness trips with confidence and experience
- Demonstrate extensive canoe, kayak, and whitewater tripping knowledge
- Communicate effectively while mentoring staff and participants
- Be at least 19 and lift up to 20 kilograms
