Support children and families as a Senior Camp Counsellor for the Town of Newmarket’s Winter Break Camps. Apply supervision, leadership, and customer service skills.

Working with Recreation and Culture Services, you will help deliver safe, inclusive, and engaging camp programming. The Senior Camp Counsellor collaborates with Camp Counsellors, Inclusion Facilitators, and Camp Directors to plan daily activities and resolve concerns. This seasonal position runs during scheduled December 2026 camp dates.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide adequate supervision during daily camp programming
- Collaborate with staff to plan the camp day
- Resolve concerns and maintain an inclusive environment
- Respond courteously to parents, guardians, and participants




- Oversee campers in pre-set swimming groups

Requirements:

- Current counsellor, babysitting, coaching, or equivalent certification
- At least one to two years’ related experience
- Ability to participate in swimming activities
- Positive organizational and leadership abilities
- Required vulnerable sector screening or minors declaration

Use inclusive leadership, effective communication, and safe supervision to serve Newmarket campers, families, and the broader community.
