RAISE Underwriting is an independently owned, Canadian Managing General Agent (MGA), dedicated to being an industry-leading supplier of risk insurance and surety products through transparency, honesty, and integrity.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProduce and underwrite new and existing contract surety businessServe as key contact on assigned portfolio of accountsQualify customers' financial, technical, and organizational capacity within RAISE's appetite against the business prospect, in accordance with department policies and proceduresProvide detailed recommendations of bond and account support by conducting financial and credit analysisMake decisions and approve bonds within account or underwriting authorityNegotiate account and/or bond-specific terms and conditionsMonitor current portfolio and assist with peer audits on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelinesBuild and maintain a network of relationships with brokers and various marketsStay abreast to industry and market trendsParticipate in team meetings to provide updates related to assigned portfolio of accounts, brokers, market intelligence, etc.Maintaining high levels of service with solutions-orientated approachIdentifying opportunities to upsell productsContribute to the expansion of the RAISE brand through marketing with existing and new broker partnersEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of four years of underwriting experienceUniversity degree/college diploma or equivalent experienceHigh level of customer service and proven success in building and maintaining effective business relationshipsAbility to analyze and evaluate contract languageStrong interpersonal and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong time management and organizational skills
