Lead municipal recreation services in Taber through staff supervision, facility operations, parks management, and continuous service improvement. This is permanent full time work.

Reporting to the Director of Community Services, the Manager of Recreation administers municipal recreation services, facilities, parks, and programs. The position leads staff, supports community partnerships, and oversees budgeting and planning. Services must align with municipal goals, policies, legislation, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise, recruit, train, evaluate, and coach recreation employees
- Develop operational plans for recreation services and asset management
- Oversee facilities, parks, programs, and special events
- Prepare budgets, reports, recommendations, and Council presentations




- Maintain safety documentation, inspections, training, and compliance systems

Requirements:

- Five years of progressively responsible management or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of municipal recreation, facilities, and parks management
- Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
- Recreation Core Courses and valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Standard First Aid, CPR/AED, and clean Police Information Check
