Build animation technology skills as a Technical Director Trainee at Walt Disney Animation Studios Vancouver, working with Python and production pipelines. This apprenticeship starts January 2027.

The Talent Development Apprenticeship Program supports emerging artists and developers through mentorship and structured training. You will learn filmmaking processes, studio culture, production tools, and technical direction practices. The program prepares you to support artistic departments in a real-time production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop working knowledge of the animation production pipeline
- Learn filmmaking processes with an assigned Disney mentor
- Design and write tools supporting artistic department needs
- Support artists facilitating the CG animation process




- Address feedback and complete assigned Technical Director tasks

Requirements:

- Be an emerging developer with under five years’ animation experience
- Hold a related degree or equivalent experience as a recent graduate
- Experience scripting with Python and using Linux or Unix
- Robust problem-solving and collaborative skills
- Be at least 18 and eligible to work in Canada
