About the Role We are seeking a skilled and creative Photonics Packaging Technologist to join our Research & Development team.

In this role, you will play a key part in developing, prototyping, and optimizing advanced photonic packaging solutions for next-generation optical devices and systems.

You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation and ensure the reliability and performance of photonic components.

Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement photonic packaging solutions for R&D; projects.

Prototype and test photonic assemblies, ensuring alignment, coupling efficiency, and thermal management.

Collaborate with optical, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate photonic components into larger systems.

Conduct failure analysis and reliability testing of packaged photonic devices.

Document processes, results, and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference.

Stay current with advancements in photonic packaging technologies and recommend improvements.

Requirements Proven experience in photonics packaging, assembly, or related R&D; roles.





Strong understanding of photonic device integration, fiber alignment, and coupling techniques.

Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting photonic assemblies.

Familiarity with optical, mechanical, and thermal considerations in photonic packaging.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with advanced packaging methods such as flip-chip, wafer-level, or hybrid integration.

Background in reliability testing and failure analysis of photonic devices.

Proficiency with CAD tools for mechanical design and simulation.

Advanced degree in photonics, optics, materials science, or a related field.
