Apply therapeutic recreation expertise at Comox Valley Seniors Village in Courtenay, BC, creating person centered programs for residents. This is a full time permanent position.
The Recreation Therapist assesses leisure functioning, strengths, and limitations, then develops programs for individuals and groups. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families to support goal orientated outcomes. The position includes documentation, care conferences, assessments, and resident engagement.
Key Responsibilities: Assess resident leisure functioning, strengths, and limitations
Develop and implement evidence-based recreation programs
Complete monthly calendars reflecting resident needs and abilities
Document progress, function, and program participation
Attend resident care conferences with interdisciplinary teams
Requirements: Two-year Recreation or equivalent Diploma
Two years related long-term care experience preferred
BCTRA membership or eligibility
Valid First Aid Level 1 with CPR
Intermediate Word, Publisher, and Outlook skills
