Advise EDC on corporate lending and project finance transactions through a hybrid work model in Ottawa, Toronto, or Montreal.As Lead Counsel, you will support EDC’s Lending and Investments team within Legal Services. The work includes transactional and non-transactional matters, legal drafting, risk mitigation, and advice on corporate activities. You will address financing products, contracts, policies, authorization requirements, and applicable statutes, while supporting business and legal teams.Key Responsibilities:
Develop, structure, negotiate, and document transactionsIdentify issues and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measuresDraft legal documentation for corporate lending mattersManage waivers, consents, and amendments for financing productsProvide legal advice on contracts, policies, and statutory requirementsRequirements:
Undergraduate degree in LawCanadian provincial bar license and valuable standingSeven or ten years of relevant experienceStrong written, verbal, and drafting communication skillsAbility to manage high transaction volumes efficientlyBring commercial judgment, negotiation, drafting, and risk mitigation skills to EDC’s corporate lending legal practice.
