This Licensed Practical Nurse position serves a multi-patient emergency assignment independently and with an interdisciplinary team. You will assess patients, deliver care, and evaluate outcomes while managing orthopaedic emergencies. The work includes teaching patients and families about casts and orthopaedic appliances, plus general LPN duties within full scope.

Observe, monitor, report, and document patient changes
Plan, deliver,



and evaluate care across a patient assignment
Requirements: Accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program completion
Active or eligible Alberta LPN registration and practice permit
Accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program completion
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Health Care Provider certification
At least two years’ recent emergency department experience
Use orthopaedic technician skills, emergency assessment, and patient-centred communication to provide quality care at Strathcona Community Hospital.
