Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to CANDU nuclear systems at AtkinsRéalis, supporting calculations, drawings, specifications, and field activities under P.Eng. supervision.
This Junior Mechanical Engineer supports pressure boundaries, piping, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, supports, qualification, and modifications. You will learn station procedures, design-basis documents, codes, standards, configuration management, and nuclear quality requirements. The work develops competencies for future P.Eng. licensure.
Key Responsibilities: Perform calculations, data reviews, drawings, specifications, and field support
Apply station procedures and approved engineering processes correctly
Participate in walkdowns, design reviews, meetings, and issue resolution
Maintain records, identify uncertainties,



and incorporate checking comments
Progressively assume more complex engineering assignments
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree acceptable for progression toward PEO licensure
Normally zero to three years of relevant experience
Engineering experience under appropriate P.Eng. supervision until licensed
Strong written communication and analytical discipline
Commitment to nuclear safety culture and guidance-seeking
Build CANDU mechanical systems expertise while developing the engineering competencies required for future Qualified Engineers Ontario licensure at AtkinsRéalis.
