Provide nursing care in St. Joseph’s Health System’s ALC unit, applying senior care knowledge and practical nursing expertise. Work full time on days and nights.
This temporary Registered Practical Nurse assignment supports medically reliable patients awaiting alternate care. You will care for less complex clients, recognize changing acuity, and consult Registered Nurses about next steps. The interdisciplinary team supports elderly patients with diverse medical needs through assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities: Provide supportive, preventive, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitation nursing care
Assess client needs and promote optimal function
Recognize changes in acuity or complexity promptly




Consult Registered Nurses regarding appropriate care decisions
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary health care team
Requirements: Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
Practical Nursing Diploma with required IV medication education
Current BCLS/HCP certification
Knowledge of seniors and their families
Effective communication, organization, and prioritization skills
Apply practical nursing, senior care, collaboration, and rehabilitation expertise within St. Joseph’s Health System’s ALC team.
